Crypte Archéologique de l'İle de la Cité

就位在聖母院的前方的廣場，因為博物館位在地下層所以頗不起眼，不過是其他原因讓crypt的人潮和就在旁邊的聖母院有天壤之別，是什麼原因？或許是單就眼睛可見之物來說的「可看性」對很多人來說比較不足，因此讓考古地穴博物館成為在巴黎相對冷門、「免排隊」的造訪點，然而以某些標準來說或許不算是「名勝」的考古地穴博物館卻絕對是「古蹟」，而且是很有歷史價值的古蹟。整個巴黎市目前有收藏展示古羅馬時期、那時還是Lutetia的物件和遺址本來就屈指可數，若單論遺址的場域那麼比較有看頭的可能又更少，就我所知應該只有考古地穴博物館和Musée de Cluny(不過這次造訪Cluny時浴場關閉而不開放參觀)，然後就這兩者而言單就遺址的時間序列最早的、大約是AD和BC之交的港口遺跡是在Crypt，也就是說考古地穴博物館目前有著全巴黎最古老、超過兩千年歷史的遺址，這樣一個地方若一般國際遊客沒興趣我想對於巴黎本地人來說應該會有探探的必要，此外考古地穴博物館的遺址還包括兩千年來其他一些包括像高盧羅馬時代的浴場、拆遷前的中世紀時的巴黎最古老醫院的主宮醫院(Hôtel Dieu)的地下遺址等等，整體而言對於對巴黎的比較古早的歷史有些了解或興趣的人來說還是頗有造訪價值。除了常設的地穴遺址，當期展覽的塞納河歷史無論就物件或是展出內容來說也都頗豐富可以順便看看。

This is the perfect museum for history nerds (like myself)! I spent about two hours here in total, taking my time to soak up more or less everything there was to read. I thought you'd learn more about the ruins in here themselves but it turned out the protagonist of the exhibition is the river Seine. Although it was a tad different from my expectations I took it as a pleasant surprise as it was fascinating to learn more about how the river had been transformed by humans. The exhibition takes you through the history of the Seine from 100,000 years ago, through Roman rules, Medieval times, all the way to the modern day. I particularly enjoyed seeing the ruins of the ancient Roman pier, which helped you imagine what life around the Seine must have looked like about two millenia ago. I warmly recommend any history enthusiasts to go visit ❤️

If you are an archaeology lover, this place is a must-visit. However, it can be a little hard to spot at first because it's underground, just look for the staircase leading to the entrance (This place is included in Paris Museum Pass). This is a really cool archaeological museum right in the heart of Paris, under the square in front of Notre-Dame Cathedral. It’s like stepping back in time because it shows you layers and layers of the city’s history, literally buried beneath the streets we walk on today. The site covers over 2,000 years of Paris’ past, from Roman times to the Middle Ages. When you visit, you get to see old ruins, foundations, walls, and even streets that were part of ancient Lutetia—the Roman city that eventually became Paris. There are also artifacts like pottery, tools, and bits of old buildings that give you a glimpse of what life was like back then. It’s kind of wild to think about how many people lived, worked, and walked around these very spots centuries ago. The whole thing is set up really well, with clear signs and some interactive displays that make the history easy to understand, even if you’re not a history buff. Plus, it’s a peaceful escape from the busy city above. If you’re into history or just curious about how Paris grew into the amazing city it is today, the Crypte Archéologique is definitely worth checking out. It’s a hidden gem that shows a side of Paris most tourists don’t get to see.

Très petit, et très sombre Une visite qui a était faite dans la continuité de notre dame. Si vous n’avez pas de temps à perdre, vous pouvez passer votre chemin…. Il est sympa de faire une exposition sur le passé de Paris, mais je pense que celle-ci devrait être plus dynamique. Seule la sympathie du personnel est à souligné

Wat als je onder het plein voor de Notre Dame kan kijken? Wat zou je dan vinden? Een flinke brok geschiedenis van de oudheid over de Romeinen tot de latere middeleeuwen ligt op je te wachten. Vooral veel muren van oude vestigingen. Geb je weinig verbeelding dan zijn er schermen en panelen om je te inspireren. Interessant voor wie de groei van deze grootstad beter leren kennen.

If you are a history or archeology buff you must stop by. This will take you underneath the famed Notre Dame de Paris. The entrance is down a set of stairs and you wouldn't think such a treasure would be here. You are taken underneath to see the unearthed stones and foundations from pre-Roman times to more recent. There is also information on how the building (which is above you) has been recognized in print and photo, story and image, through the years.
